What Is the Explosive Projectiles Blueprint?
EU's Purest Slot Machine
For Your Information: this article was last updated on July 12, 2026, Revised and Corrected by Claude.
If you get into Crafting in Entropia Universe, there's one very important BP you need to know about... and by the way, BP stands for Blueprint — basically everything you manufacture comes from a BP.
The most famous BP in EU is called Explosive Projectiles — the one you can see in the picture below (click to enlarge).
This BP is the closest thing to a real slot machine in EU.
The important facts you need to know:
- There are 4 levels of Explosive Projectiles BP, from 1 to 4.
- The higher the number, the more expensive it is to buy and craft!
- All of these BPs can help you skill up in the Manufacturing professions!
- These BPs are used every single day for GAMBLING in its purest form.
Depending on your Manufacturing skill level and budget, you can start with whichever Explosive BP level you want — provided you own it, of course 😅 These BPs aren't free! Levels 1 and 2 go for ~100 to 130 PED at QR100 (see below for QR details), whereas levels 3 and 4 can reach 2,000 to 4,000 PED at QR100.
Personally, I started directly with — and stayed on — the Explosive Projectiles BP level 2.
I bought it from the auctions for 100 PED, at QR 100. Blueprints have a Quality Rating from 1 to 100: the more you use a BP, the higher its QR climbs — and the higher its price, since a higher QR also improves your chances of good results from the manufacturing process.
Most people start with the Explosive Projectiles Blueprint 1, since it doesn't require many skills, and once their Mechanical Engineering hits level 5 or 6, they start considering the Explosive Projectiles Blueprint 2.
What material do you need to craft Explosive Projectiles?
Nanocubes! You get them by recycling worthless loot at the Trade Terminal... which makes Explosive Projectiles VERY easy to craft, since you don't need to buy any high-MU (Markup) materials from other players.
Nanocubes used to be available in unlimited quantity straight from MindArk terminals, but now you have to recycle loot... In theory it was a good move for the economy, since people could resell their loot to these gamblers. But in practice, the markup bonus never amounted to much, and these days it's not uncommon to sell our loot straight to the Trade Terminal — the markup is so small that hunting for a customer just isn't worth the hassle.
Nanocubes — the worst thing that ever happened to EU 😏
But MindArk didn't do that to make players happy... MindArk only listens to the community when it fits their needs — and their need is to make more money. By introducing this Recycle tab, everyone is now incentivized to sell the loot that was sleeping in their storage, so the big gamblers can buy it all up and gamble even more 😏
Fewer liabilities sleeping in storage — all the better for MindArk...
Crafting Explosive Projectiles is exactly like playing a casino slot machine! You put your Nanocubes in the machine, you press the button and... Tadaaaaaaa! EP BP levels 1 and 2 are for small players, while levels 3 and 4 are for another league entirely — players whose PED balance is WAY above the average Entropian's, who can afford to lose a LOT in the short run because they know (or hope) they'll make it back in the long run.
Explosive Projectiles: Money Maker or Money Sinker?
First, let's talk about the cost of playing with the EP BP (Explosive Projectiles Blueprint):
- EP BP 1 costs 0.02 PED per click... a very cheap way to skill up! 😊
- EP BP 2 costs 0.2 PED per click... still inexpensive and very good for skilling!
- EP BP 3 costs 2 PED per click! Now every click costs you $0.20...
- EP BP 4 costs 20 PED per click! Here we're officially on a $2 casino slot machine 😏
By now you get it: the higher you go, the more expensive it gets! It's also recommended, when crafting Explosive Projectiles, to run at the very least 500 clicks. So depending on your EP BP level, one run will cost you between 10 and 10,000 PED (yes, 500 clicks on an EP BP 4 is $1,000 for a single run!).
When manufacturing, you also choose where to set a slider: on Quantity or on Condition.
- Quantity gives you the best success rate, but with smaller outcomes
- Condition cuts your success rate by 4, but with the best chances of landing a Global, a HOF or even an ATH
ATHs are All Time High globals — records among the biggest single loots ever, and they happen extremely rarely. To give you real, verifiable numbers: the all-time hunting record has stood since October 2013, when a player looted a creature worth 331,960 PED — more than $33,000 on a single kill — and more than a decade later, nobody has beaten it. On the crafting side, Explosive Projectiles hold some of the biggest records: an EP ATH of over 162,000 PED (~$16,000) was hit back in 2016 by a player cycling runs of just 2,000–2,500 PED.
When one of these lands, every player in the Universe sees the notification at the top of their screen... and for a moment, everyone dreams 🤩 There's also a long-running community theory that your winnings are tied to your deposit history — never confirmed by MindArk, but hey, it's a casino, remember? Best clients get the best treatment 😎
My Real Testing: 10,000+ Clicks on Quantity vs Condition
So let's do some Quantity and Condition testing!
For more than 2 weeks, I ran intense testing on this EP Blueprint 2... And I didn't want to test with just the recommended 500 clicks per run — more like an entire night! By day I'm a hunter, doing the Daily Hunting missions on Calypso; by night, my laptop was running on its own in another room of the house.
So while I was sleeping... my avatar was peacefully manufacturing EP BP 2. It's all right — the game has a built-in auto-crafting function precisely for that, otherwise it would be insanely time-consuming 😅 (Note: stick to the official in-game auto-craft; third-party autoclicker software is against MindArk's EULA and can get your account banned.)
I went for big runs on EP BP 2, cycling between 1,500 and 2,300 PED every night!
For that amount you get between 7,500 and 11,500 clicks 😊 Even more, actually: when you nearly succeed on an attempt, you get some Nanocubes back — and therefore more attempts!
Here are the screenshots after an average of 10,000 to 12,000 clicks while testing the slider on QUANTITY:
As you can see, I didn't global like mad... not at all, in fact — barely 1 global each time.
And a last one without any globals at all...
And here are the screenshots after 10,000 to 12,000 clicks while testing the slider on CONDITION:
We can see higher results 👍 but don't be fooled by those numbers...
Even here we can see 2 globals, but the truth is...
...You might think those last 3 screenshots look better, because the VALUE column is filtered by my best results over the entire night, and it seems CONDITION delivered more?
Not really... Because what you don't see are the entire pages of FAILED attempts that follow! Setting the slider on CONDITION also means failing 4 times more often than on QUANTITY.
The Real Results: What My Excel Spreadsheet Reveals
As always, click on the screenshot to enlarge 😉
Basically, this Excel spreadsheet shows:
- 3 different periods: unskilled on Quantity, skilled on Quantity, then skilled on Condition
- The green period is skilled on Quantity, where the losses are acceptable
- I always convert the Shrapnel into Ammo, since you gain 1% more ammunition to hunt with
- You end up with big stacks of EP and Metal Residue to sell, earning a few dozen PED of MU
- The Recycled BPs are RARE blueprints you can loot as rewards, and their MU is really high! 😍 (you can resell them — they're basically globals in themselves)
An Excel spreadsheet in EU will always speak louder than a few screenshots... That's also why, whenever you see people posting screenshots of their Explosive Projectiles runs claiming they got rich, just ask them for their full results over days, weeks and months. Pretty sure you won't get a detailed answer — because the truth is IT'S ALL GAMBLING, therefore ALL LUCK, and most of them want to hide their BIG LOSSES!
You know, when a guy hits a HOF (Hall of Fame) or an ATH (All Time High), it generally means he already lost a lot of PED beforehand — so that HOF or ATH is barely covering the damage from the past. Or he'll make some money, but not that much... Or it means his next EP runs are going to be a disaster 😏 I don't wish anyone any harm, but remember: EU is a disguised online CASINO, and the house ALWAYS wins in the end!
Anyway... as you can see on the screenshot below, you'll have plenty of things to sell after every run!
If you want to sell them fast, set a low buyout 👍
The goal is to get as many PED back as you can! You'll notice my starting bid is always LOW... I'm not a greedy player, so my BO (Buyout Price) is the lowest on the auctions every time. That means I KNOW my offers will sell at the BO, so I don't need to worry about the starting bid.
See, some players are scared of their stuff selling at the low price because their BO isn't attractive at all (too high), so they set a high starting bid too... But by doing so, they pay extra auction fees!
I pay only 0.5 PED each time, and those guys pay far more in fees than I do — and in the end they don't earn more than me, because of those fees. If they weren't so greedy, they'd just set a reasonable BO and their offers would sell very quickly! My EP residues always sold within the hour, even though the auction could have run for 7 days.
EP BP 3 & 4, Loot Waves... and the Recycled Blueprints Madness
I was cycling 1,500 to 2,300 PED every night because I was on the Explosive Projectiles Blueprint 2, where each click costs only 0.2 PED... Now imagine doing the very same thing with EP BP 3 or 4: that would mean cycling between 20,000 PED ($2,000) and 200,000 PED ($20,000) every single night!
I don't think many players in EU are willing to cycle $20,000 per night, because...- Why would someone that wealthy play EU? It just doesn't add up... You can't trust a company like MindArk, and even less with such big amounts of money — unless, of course, you're completely delusional!
- You'd see HUGE stacks of residues in the auctions every day... And yes, there are big stacks daily, but nowhere near what $20,000 burned overnight would produce.
Besides, those who cycle thousands of dollars a day in EP BPs do it at specific times... They're chasing the Loot Waves! Yes, the community is convinced EU still runs on a loot wave system (MindArk has never confirmed it, of course). The idea: if you track and analyze the time frames when these waves happen, you can predict a better moment to do whatever you do (hunt, manufacture, mine...).
A few services on the internet sell these analyses — paid services, of course. And there are a lot of IT people in the EU community... how surprising 😆 (same as in any other MMORPG, lol). But in EU specifically, there are many developers, some quite comfortable with Python and even artificial intelligence. Well, guess what? A few have built their own loot-wave prediction systems... I know of at least 2 players offering their analysis services on the web, mostly built on data from Entropia Life and a few other private resources.
And if the 4 levels of EP BP weren't enough gambling for you... let me introduce the final boss:
The Recycled Blueprints !
While crafting Explosive Projectiles, you can rarely loot special Limited blueprints called Explosive Projectiles Recycle BPs (they exist in several levels, all documented on the community wiki). Here's the twist: these BPs consume Explosive Projectiles themselves as crafting material — you're literally gambling your previous gamble 🤯 And the click costs on the higher Recycle levels are in a league of their own: we're talking hundreds of PED per single click — a $50+ bet every time you press the button, on a Limited BP that dies when its uses run out.
This is where the truly massive crafting HOFs come from: when someone crafts Recycled with the slider on Condition and the stars align, five- to six-digit PED loots can drop — the kind of notification the whole Universe stares at. But make no mistake: those UBER HOFs are separated by months, sometimes years. And if the House hasn't reached its quota yet, no bet size will force its hand — it will happily ruin a thousand players before crowning one 😏
If EP BP 4 is a $2 slot machine, the high-level Recycled BPs are the private VIP room of the casino: don't even peek inside unless losing that money changes nothing in your life.
What's important to know: EU runs on 1% of its players — the remaining 99% are just trapped.
2,300+ hours in. I've earned this opinion.
Everyone posts their EP globals. Nobody posts their Excel spreadsheet — I did, and it shows exactly why the House always wins. Got a full crafting log that proves me wrong? Not just your best screenshot — the WHOLE run. Come tell me. I'll be right here.
