Entropia Universe Payout Not Granted Until I Called a Lawyer

MindArk approved my withdrawal... then didn't pay it. For months.

Until I contacted a Swedish law firm. I was paid 2 weeks later. Here's exactly what worked.

Granted vs. Committed: Two Very Different Words at MindArk

Following my February 2025 article, where I'd been ghosted by MindArk support over a mere 3,000 PED withdrawal, I said it would be my very last post about this game. I moved on with my life, knowing I'd lost a level 73 avatar and a little under $2,000 in 3 years. I was playing other games by then — Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, actually 😇

Then in April 2025, I remembered something: my bank account details were still sitting in MindArk's database. And I wasn't comfortable leaving my banking information with a company I no longer trusted.

So on April 20, 2025, I opened a new support case asking them to clear out my bank details.

And guess what? Jasper answered, saying it would be handled in my old, closed "withdrawal request" case.

My first reaction: wait, what?

So I went back to the old, now re-opened case, and simply asked them to clear my bank details from their database.

And that's when I got a big surprise — I read (and screenshotted) that my withdrawal was finally approved! They'd investigated the case, taken my comments into account, and were going to approve the payout 👍

An unrelated ticket about deleting my Banking Information had accidentally (not that much accidental in fact...) unlocked a withdrawal frozen for six months. Remember that — it matters later.

Approved on Paper, Invisible in the Bank

Of course, they needed to keep my banking information to commit the withdrawal, and would delete it afterwards if I still wanted. All good news, right? But this is Entropia Universe — when something finally goes your way, something usually smells fishy.

As you can see, on that very same day I told them to process the approved withdrawal.

In plain English, that means: "It's fine, you can commit the withdrawal you've just approved." I'm rephrasing because it seems we don't all read English the same way 😏

Five days later, on April 29, 2025, the withdrawal was still not committed.

So a week after that, on May 4, 2025, I sent another reminder. And here's the thing — this wasn't my first withdrawal. It would be my 5th. And every previous time, as soon as support approved a withdrawal, the commitment followed within a few days.

Another week — still nothing committed, sent, or transferred.

So I started wondering whether the message just wasn't getting through.

On May 13, 2025, I sent them the exact same message... in French. I'm a native speaker, after all — worth a try 😅

Opening a Support Case... About a Support Case

Alright — it was fun, but as you've guessed, nothing happened.

So one more week later, I decided to open a new support case about my existing support case! Why? Because an Entropian player who'd visited my website told me that with MindArk support, you sometimes have to open a NEW case for them to look at an EXISTING ticket 🙃

Yes, it's absurd. Yes, it's unacceptable. But if that's what it takes — why not.

(Credit where it's due: that advice came from a reader named Electra, in the comments of the previous article. And she turned out to be right, twice over. I say "She" though i know 95% of women avatar on EU are actually "He" 😜)

That was my last message to support, and of course it changed nothing at the time.

Let's try to make sense of this mess:

1. Jasper himself answered my request to clear my bank details, saying they'd handle it in the previously closed (then re-opened) case. Still following dear reader ?
2. In that re-opened case, someone else — no longer Jasper — told me my withdrawal would be approved.
3. And then... nothing. Ghosted for over a month.

I genuinely don't know what happened internally, and I won't pretend to. What I can say is what it looked like from the customer's side: an approval that existed on paper and nowhere else. Whether that's dysfunction, understaffing, or something more deliberate — the effect on me was identical.

Then during Summer 2025 - 2500 Peds of HOF out of the blue...

Frankly i never asked for it...

The first was a 523 peds on a Frescoquda Provider (3rd of July 2025).
The second was a 1427 peds on a Longtooth Mature (6th of July 2025).
The third was a 544 peds on a Longtooth Mature (7th of July 2025).

It didn't change a thing though, it just meant I was able to play for free a little while longer without the need for deposit. Though it shows one point "Even if you have an opened case with MindArk, it doesn't mean that you are flagged in game". I could still win Hofs, so i wasn't out of the loot loop. Better than nothing right ? 😅

Though at that time i didn't celebrate, because i was convinced i would never get my money back...

What Finally Worked: A Swedish Law Firm

Here's the part that matters more than everything above — and the reason this article exists.

I'm not the kind of person who complains endlessly on a forum. I'm the kind who takes action. So I contacted a Swedish law firm called Kahn Pedersen, based in Sweden — the same country where MindArk is registered.

Their advice before filing anything was simple and sensible: formally remind MindArk of the situation first. So I did, by opening another support ticket stating plainly where things stood — including that I had been in contact with a Swedish law firm. And here's the result below — I'll let you judge for yourself:

• Time between clicking "withdraw" and getting paid: 176 business days (over 6 months)
• Time between mentioning the law firm and getting paid: less than 2 weeks

The final message arrived on July 8, 2025, and the money landed in my account the following week.

Funny detail: they didn't close the case right away. They kept it open until the end of their 7-day SLA — just to show they'd done their part and were now waiting for me to confirm. I even got a notification about it 😅

The moral of the story? Not "threaten them" — that's the wrong word, and it's not what I did. The moral is this: you are a consumer, you have rights, and calmly exercising them changes the conversation entirely. Six months of polite messages achieved nothing. Two weeks after a formal notice mentioning legal counsel, I was paid in full.

For transparency: I currently work for a law firm myself, so contacting lawyers doesn't intimidate me. But as you'll see below — you don't need to be in my position, and you don't need to spend a cent.

Stuck With an Unpaid Withdrawal? Here Are Your Actual Options

This is the section I wish someone had written for me. If you're an EU/EEA resident with money frozen at MindArk, you have formal, low-cost options that almost nobody in the Entropia community ever talks about. MindArk is a registered Swedish company (MindArk PE AB), which means Swedish and European consumer frameworks apply to it like any other business.

1. Your European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) — FREE. This is the one to start with. The ECC network gives free, expert legal advice and handles cross-border consumer disputes — exactly your situation if you live in one EU country and the trader is in another (Sweden). You file with the ECC of your own country of residence, in your own language, and they liaise with their Swedish counterpart. Cost: nothing.

2. ARN — the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes — 150 SEK (~€13). ARN is a Swedish public authority that functions roughly like a court. It issues recommendations that are not legally binding — but the majority of companies follow them, partly because those who don't end up on a publicly published "black list". Decisions typically take around six months, and complaints can be filed in English (unless the company objects). Note: ARN's remit normally covers contracts entered into in Sweden, so check eligibility first — that's exactly what the ECC can advise you on.

3. European Small Claims Procedure / European Payment Order. For cross-border claims within the EU, these are simplified court mechanisms designed precisely for modest amounts like ours — no lawyer required.

4. A formal notice mentioning legal counsel — the route I took, and the only one that moved anything after six months of silence. Maybe the other routes mentioned above can work too, you'll have to test them 😉

Before any of that, document everything: withdrawal request date, every message you sent, every message they sent (screenshots — cases can be closed and content can vanish), the withdrawal ID, and your deposit history proving you're a paying customer. My whole case rested on that paper trail.

Obvious disclaimer: I'm a gamer with a blog, not a lawyer, and this isn't legal advice. Rules vary by country and change over time — verify everything with your own ECC before acting. But please, at least know that these avenues exist: too many players sit on frozen money for a year or more believing their only option is another support ticket.

Was It Ever About the Money? No.

At the time I first wrote this, in June 2025, the in-game economy looked grim, and I said the game was dying.

Here's what I was seeing:

• Many players trying to sell all of their skills — a way to get some money back, assuming they ever get paid.
• A Mayhem event that felt like a disaster: clear lack of interest, plenty of bugs, no refunds.
• Auction prices spiralling downward, with many of us selling straight to the trade terminal (no profit).
• Veterans still trying to offload Uber gear at prices nobody sane would pay in that economy.

To be fair and factual — an update on that claim: Entropia Universe didn't die. Since the Steam launch in July 2025, the active player base has actually grown, sitting somewhere around 1,100 players in 2026. But context matters: 1,100 players is still a niche within a niche, and I covered the full picture in the final part of my guide. Not dead. Not alive either.

And I was also wrong about one thing: I wrote that I'd "surely never get my approved payment". I did get it. I want that on the record, because being fair to a company I have serious issues with matters more than being right.

It was never about the money. If you've watched my stream, you know I have my own small private gym with thousands of dollars of equipment, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I worked hard to get to a comfortable place financially, and I'm not ashamed of it — I wasn't born with a silver spoon.

$300 was never going to change my life. But I hope new players read this before they start depositing — because for some of them, $300 would change their life. And they deserve to know how long it can take to get it back.
